Aqualish are walrus-faced humanoids with skin ranging in color from dark green or blue to deep-russet or black. Some Aqualish subspecies have four eyes instead of two or fins instead of hands. The Aqualish admire strength and are openly hostile toward the weak. In fact, it is customary and accepted social behavior among Aqualish to be pushy and belligerent upon first meeting others.

Species Traits

Aqualish share the following species traits:

     Ability Modifiers: +2 Constitution, −2 Charisma, −2 Wisdom. Aqualish are a hearty species but somewhat obnoxious and foolish.

     Medium Size: Medium creatures have no special bonuses or penalties due to their size.

     Speed: Aqualish base speed is 6 squares.

     Breathe Underwater: As amphibious creatures, Aqualish can’t drown in water.

     Expert Swimmer: An Aqualish may choose to reroll any Swim check, but the result of the reroll must be accepted, even if it is worse. In addition, an Aqualish may choose to take 10 on swim checks, even when distracted or threatened.

     Bonus Feat: Aqualish gain Toughness as a bonus feat.

     Automatic Languages: Basic and Aqualish
