At first glance, R2-D2 seems an unassuming astromech droid, typical of his series. But Artoo is unusual in that he has a unique personality quirk: courage Artoo demonstrates his bravery again and again, taking the typical R2 unit’s helpfulness to an unheard-of extreme.
Although he serves faithfully, Artoo does so in the manner he feels is best-which doesn’t always coincide with the instructions given to him. In addition to being innovative and resourceful, he is often absolutely right about the best course of action.
